About Me
Hi, I'm Michael Oswald, my current job is an Engineering Manager. I've been working in software professionally since 2013.
What This Site Is About
Learning fundamental software engineering principles through interactive simulations that make concepts stick. The Learning Lab covers:
- Software engineering laws (Brooks's, Amdahl's, Conway's)
- Productivity principles (Pareto, Parkinson's, Carlson's)
- System design concepts (Little's Law, Idempotency)
- Project management (Hofstadter's, Goodhart's)
- Algorithms and data structures
- Team dynamics and psychology
Reading about these concepts is one thing. Seeing them in action through interactive simulations shows how they actually work in practice. (Not all topics have simulations)
Follow Along
I also try to post helpful videos on my YouTube channel. New labs are added regularly, check the Learning Lab page for the latest.
